UDMF cadres tried to burn security personnel alive in Biratnagar: DPO

BHOJPUR: Agitating cadres of the United Democratic Madhesi Front on Wednesday attacked a police beat at the Biratnagar Customs Office and tried to burn five security personnel -- two from the Nepal Police and three from the Armed Police Force -- sprinkling petrol on Wednesday, District Police Office, Morang, said. Security personnel deployed at the Customs Office fired shots in the air to disperse the attackers, according to the DPO. DSP Pramod Prasad Kharel at the DPO informed that the APF personnel fired 10 rounds of bullets and the Nepal Police personnel six in the air to take situation under control. The protesters vandalised the offices of Maiti Nepal and K I Nepal. Security has been beefed up in Morang and security personnel have been mobilised in large numbers in various areas, the DPO informed.
