Madhesi parties obstruct House proceedings

KATHMANDU: The eight Madhes-based agitating parties on Sunday participated the Parliament meeting but obstructed House proceedings. After NC, UML, UCPN-M and RPP-N members addressed the House, Ashok Kumar Rai of Federal Socialist Forum Nepal spoke on behalf of the agitating parties before chanting slogans at the well. He blamed the government of not making serious efforts to address the concerns of agitating parties and condemned it for suppressing their movement. Following Rai’s address, around 20 lawmakers of agitating parties went to the well and chanted slogans against the government. They demanded formation of a Judicial Commission to probe the killing of people by the government during the movement and fulfilment of the demands of agitators. Then, Speaker Onsari Gharti postponed the House meeting till 3:00pm on Monday without entering the scheduled agenda. READ ALSO
