Kathmandu, November 10 Chairman of Unified CPN-Maoist Pushpa Kamal Dahal today claimed that he had rejected the top executive post of the country for the sake of new constitution. Addressing a political training programme organised by the party, Dahal said he had faced a great difficulty bringing both the NC and UML on board the constitution writing process. He also said that there were genuine concerns from the people regarding effective implementation of the new constitution as there were anti-federalism, anti-republican and anti-secularism forces in the government. Dahal, however, said he would work hard and cautiously to ensure effective implementation of the constitution. On a different note, Dahal said he has no regrets for promoting Baburam Bhattarai directly to politburo from the district committee. He, however, said that he was taken aback after the latter “betrayed” him at this critical juncture. He also claimed that Bhattarai’s new force was a bunch of old faces and hence not worth much. He claimed that Bhattarai would “return home tired” some day. Dahal also said that his party would begin a campaign to unify all revolutionary parties and that it would lead to the formation of a new communist force. Another leader Janardan Sharma said Bhattarai’s new force won’t affect UCPN-M in any way. He said the party won’t abandon its agendas until the all the achievements of the people’s war are institutionalised.
