Bhattarai adds former Maoist leaders in New Force's ICC

KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai on Tuesday announced the names of 22 new members of the Interim Central Council (ICC) of his New Force. Most of them are former Maoist leaders who quit the UCPN-Maoist after Bhattarai severed ties with the former rebel parties. Bhattarai, the coordinator of  the New Force Campaign which aims at forming a new politicseval party, issued a press statement for the announcement. With the latest addition, the total members of New Force Campaign's ICC has reached 57. The name of 35 members were officially announced on Sunday amid a function in Kathmandu. Bhattarai has set up a central office in Babarmahal. Bhattarai, the then second man of the UCPN-Maoist, had severed ties with the party on September 26 last year claiming the old party could not make any change in the nation.
