But even after putting together these commonly used ideas, new movie Pashupati Prasad wins your heart, thanks to its strong storyline, actors’ notable performances, witty dialogues and creditable cinematography. Pashupati Prasad (Khagendra Lamichhane) comes to Kathmandu to earn money to repay his father’s debt. He faces hardships surviving in the Capital. His mitba Til Bahadur Baniya (Prakash Ghimire) denies recognising him in the beginning. Later he gets a job with the help of Til Bahadur. But can he earn money to fulfil his dreams ? Surrounded by deceivers in every step of his life, can Pashupati Prasad survive in the city? One must need to watch the film till the end. With a gripping storyline, the movie keeps you glued to your seat. The portrayal of recent earthquake and its effects on a man’s life, have been done brilliantly. The movie is shot in the Pashupati area, except for one or two scenes, which is a proof that good movies can be made in the local areas too. With emphasis on minute details and dialogue delivery that is natural and witty, the movie makes the audience content. Pashupati Prasad has a good cast and its lead actor Lamichhane stands out with his powerful performance. After his impressive acting in Talakjung Vs Tulke, Lamichhane has once again given his best in this film making you feel, he is the actor that Nepali film industry is looking for! He shows his mettle as Pashupati Prasad, a character that is funny, romantic, loving, emotional and witty. Rabindra Singh Baniya as Hanuman gives you a feel of being in Pashupati area. Barsha Siwakoti as Bunu doesn’t speak a single word in the movie but her expressions say more than the words. Bhasma (Bipin Karki) makes the audience smile from ear to ear with his activities. Ghimire is able to reflect the plight of those working in crematorium — their dreams, frustrations, and harassments they have been facing. Chasing scenes, flashback scenes and greenery have been beautifully captured by Niraj Kandel. Lamichhane as a writer has taken a risk — by ending the movie in an unexpected way.
