KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 12
The balance in the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund has reached Rs 13.54 billion as financial contributions continue to come in, according to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
As of 9am today, the fund had Rs 13.54 billion, including Rs 28.20 million deposited after 5pm on September 11, the office said. The amount is held in accounts at nine different banks.
The government has already released Rs 1 billion from the fund through the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority for flood victims.
Contributions to the fund's two US dollar accounts have also increased. An additional $154,770 was deposited after 5pm on September 11, taking the total balance in the dollar accounts to $23.44 million, according to the Prime Minister's Office.
