Kathmandu, February 6 At least 71 people were injured when a mild aftershock of the April 25 shook the Kathmandu Valley yesterday night, according to SP Bishwaraj Pokharel at the Metropolitan Police Circle. He said a total of 60 people in Kathmandu district (41 men and 19 women) were injured in the panic rush, while six people were injured in Lalitpur and five in Bhaktapur. He said most of people had sustained head, arms and leg injuries while rushing out of their homes in panic. “Nineteen of the injured were admitted to different hospitals for treatment, while many of them have already returned home after treatment,” said SP Pokharel. He also informed that there were no casualties in the incident. A moderate tremor of local magnitude 5.5 with its epicenter in Sindhupalchok had shaken central Nepal, including the Kathmandu Valley, at 10:05 pm yesterday. According to Pokharel, no foreigner was injured in the incident.
