Kathmandu Young and upcoming designers took over the stage with their imaginative collections on the second day of the Blenders Pride -TGIF Nepal Fashion Week 2016. Their outfits flaunted creative and fresh elements, and there wasn’t a single collection that was not worth mentioning. Every single outfit from the 10 sequences had their own story to tell. It was as if the imagination of all the 21 designers came alive on the ramp. The show started with ‘Nyatapol’ — a collection created by Roshan Bhattarai, Meena Pokharel and Sajana Acharya. The designs were an infusion of Nepal’s rich cultural heritage and high-end fashion, blending Nepali hand printed fabrics with georgette and velvet. Next was ‘Sworup’ — a collection of white and multicolour long gowns by Aarati Rajbhandari, Suraksha Regmi and Deepa Thapa Magar. The abstract prints that reflected different facial expressions of women were definitely the most interesting part of the whole collection. Then came the dreamy collection of Susam Giri, Dewanti Oli and Sujata Karki — ‘Fairytale’. The gorgeous flowy dusty pastel coloured dresses and gowns weaved in buffet pattern looked like it would fit a princess. Another collection of amazing gowns arrived. These were the creations of Rojina Maharjan and Ujala Kapali — ‘Glossy Bloom’. This was followed by Shobha Kumari Bhattarai, Mohammad Rizwan and Bindu Kumari Kandagwa’s ‘Crochet’. The designers gave a whole new definition to crochet patterns by using them as a design element for the sleeves, neck, and also as a belt in plain dresses. ‘Verano’ — the collection of Sujata Angdembe and Amrita Poon didn’t fail to impress the audience. The models looked like they had donning paintings. The prints looked like splash of colours from paintbrush of an artist. Another dazzling collection was of Anita BK, whose metal inspired collection shone on the ramp. Moving from the mainstream fashion, Anu Sharma Bashyal and Remika Shrestha put forth a vibrant collection of outfits with frills, slits and fringe — it was a refreshing treatment to the eyes. The show ended with Binisha Manandhar’s beautiful bridal collection. Showstopper Mala Limbu wrapped up the show, looking gorgeous in glittery bridal wear. Also among the showstoppers were well known names like Sanchita Luitel, Nisha Pathak, Jharna Thapa, Soni Rajbhandari and Richa Sharma.
