Kathmandu, April 6 Tribhuvan Army Club’s Ratnajit Tamang, Dipesh Dhami, Nangsal Tamang and Amita Giri entered the singles finals of the 12th Nationwide Krishnamohan Memorial Open Badminton Tournament here on Wednesday. In men’s section, Tamang defeated Bishnu Katuwal of Nepal Police Club 21-14, 21-9, while Dhami registered a hard fought 21-18, 14-21, 21-13 victory over fellow clubmate Bikash Shrestha. In women’s section, Tamang routed Shova Gauchan of Nepal APF Club 21-17, 21-10, while Giri edged past Sikchya Shrestha of APF 21-11, 24-22. In U-17 category, Sunil Joshi of Kanchanpur set up final match with Rukesh Maharjan of TAC. Joshi edged past Chiran Bista of Kanchanpur 21-14, 22-20, while Maharjan registered a 21-14, 26-24 win over Prince Dahal of NPC. In girl’s section, Megha Chand of TAC and Sima Rajbanshi of Morang advanced to the final. Chand overwhelmed Ranjana Bhatta of APF 21-18, 21-16, while Rajbansi beat Sunaina Mukhiya of TAC 21-13, 21-18. Likewise in men’s doubles, TAC’s Nabin Shrestha/Ratnajit Tamang edged past Joseph Adhikari/Suman Limbu of APF 19-21, 21-10, 23-21, TAC’s Suroj Maharjan/Dipesh Dhami thumped Irfan Ansari/Ram Baniya 21-10, 21-16, NPC’s Deepak Bohara/Bishnu Katuwal routed Bimal Shrestha/Bishal Pradhan 21-9, 21-15 and Bijit Thapa Magar/Bikash Shrestha edged past fellow APF clubmates Pankaj Chand/Indra Mahata 21-18, 15-21, 21-12 to make it to the semis. In women’s section, Puja Shrestha/Sikchya Shrestha of APF, Amita Giri/Nangsal Tamang of TAC advanced to the semi-finals. In mixed doubles, TAC’s Nangsal Tamang/Ratnajit Tamang, APF’s Bina Tulachan/Bishal Pradhan, TAC’s Amita Giri/Saroj Maharjan entered the semi-finals.
