Kathmandu, April 7 Zohra Sports Management is organising The Himalayan Times Corporate Beach Cricket Tournament on the banks of Trishuli River at Riverside Springs Resort in Kurintar, Chitwan this month. A total of 16 teams from corporate houses will take part in the two-day tournament on April 15-16. “Started in 2009, the Corporate Beach Cricket is one of the sought after sports events,” said Aamir Akhtar, Managing Director of Zohra Sports Management. “The Tournament is bound to be a fun and team building sport for the Nepali corporate society. It strives to allow professionals to network in a fun and friendly environment, promoting its tag line – Seriously Fun!” added Akhtar, the former national cricket team member. The Himalayan Times Corporate Beach Cricket matches will be played in exciting Super Sixes format with colour balls and colour dress. Each team will have six players including a woman member. Apart from the main trophy, the team with the best spirit, best cheering team, most well-dressed team and best female player will be awarded after the tournament. The organisers will provide the teams with transportation, rooms on sharing basis, meals, poolside party, colourful tournament t–shirts and all necessary tournament equipment including bat, non–leather beach cricket balls, pitch mats. The Himalayan Times, Nepal’s No 1 English daily newspaper, is the main sponsor of the tournament, while Turkish Airlines, Ruslan Cricket and Riverside Springs Resort are the other partners of the event.
