Kathmandu, April 16 The famous phrase ‘Nepali time’ refers to commonly found inveterate habit among the general Nepali people of arriving late for any sort of scheduled programme or event, which consequently results in delayed start of any undertaking. In the backdrop of this ubiquitous habit among Nepalis, a National Awareness Grand Campaign – 2073 has kicked off with the slogan ‘Time Right: Prime Basis for Country’s Development’. The objective of this grand campaign is to herald a general transformation in people’s mindset towards the value of time. CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal inaugurated the campaign and stressed timely implementation of the new constitution. He added that only effective implementation of the new constitution would drive the country towards the path of economic, social and cultural progress. “A slight delay may result in someone’s death, so in Nepal’s context, we have to establish the trend of completing works before the set deadline,” Nepal emphasised. On the occasion, Nepali Congress General Secretary Shashank Koirala said political parties must implement the new constitution as soon as possible understanding the value of time. General Secretary of the UCPN-Maoist, Krishna Bahadur Mahara, said the practice of completing works before the set deadline limit should start from the government agencies.
