KATHMANDU: United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) leaders did not attend an all-party meeting called by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Tuesday. The Prime Minister had called the meeting to find a negotiated settlement of the contemporary issues including the ones related to the new constitution. Talking to THT Online over phone, Tarai Madhes Democratic Party (TMDP) Chairman Mahantha Thakur said that the leaders of Madhesi parties did not attend the meeting as the government was not serious towards addressing the demands raised by the UDMF. 'We will hold a meeting within a few days and will decide whether to sit for talks,' Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal (FSF-N) Chairman Upendra Yadav on Monday had said that the agitating forces would not sit for talks with the government until the latter addressed their demands. Their demands include rewriting of the recently promulgated constitution and release of cadres and leaders arrested across the Tarai. READ ALSO PM Oli calls all-party meeting
