Create environment for talks with UDMF: NC to govt

KATHMANDU: The main opposition party Nepali Congress on Tuesday urged the government to create conducive environment for talks with the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF). Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had called an all-party meeting , inviting all political parties including the ruling parties, Nepali Congress and the constituents of UDMF today. The UDMF constituents, however, did not take part in the meeting. The Prime Minister had called the meeting to find a negotiated settlement of the contemporary issues including the ones related to the new constitution. Meanwhile, after today's meeting, Prime Minister Oli wrote on Twitter that efforts for talks will continue. 'Though Madhesi Front did not take part in the tripartite talks, Government is always ready for talks and conversation. Talks efforts will continue,' his tweet reads.
