Bhaktapur, July 24 National Reconstruction Authority has begun data collection of earthquake victims in Bhaktapur from yesterday. The survey started four days later than scheduled as municipalities in the district were yet to receive data of quake-victims, said Dhruba Ratna Bajracharya, director of District Data Collection Management Office, Bhaktapur. Government teams comprising engineers have been deployed to all the municipalities in the district to collect data of earthquake victims. NRA has already completed data collection of earthquake victims in 11 districts outside of the Kathmandu Valley. The data collection campaign will last for 45 days. Earthquake victims, who were left out in the previous survey, would also be included in the new list to be prepared by NRA. “The data collection will be undertaken by listing those with quake-victims’ identity cards while the teams will go from door to door to list people who were left out during the past survey,” Bajracharya shared. Quake survivors who have rebuilt their homes can show the photo of their damaged building to claim the government grant. The people who were left out in the previous survey can apply at their concerned municipalities for relief and grant. Chief District Officer of Bhaktapur Tej Prasad Poudel confirmed that data collection of earthquake victims had begun in the district.
