Bag with Rs 6,00,000 stolen from busy Nepalganj street

NEPALGANJ: A man was heading to deposit Rs 6,00,000 at a bank in Dhamboji of Nepalganj but his bag containing the fortune was dramatically stolen on the way from one of the busy streets in the city, police said. Nirnaya Jang Malla, a local resident, was ignorant of falling in a trap set up by an unknown thief when he kept the bag by the side of a roadside tap after seeing dirt on his shirt. After cleaning the dirt when Malla turned back to hold his bag he was shocked to discover that his bag had already disappeared. Police suspected the thief had been keeping an eye on Malla, who had withdrawn money from Citizens Bank and Laxmi Bank, and furtively threw gooey filth on him to distract him. The incident took place at around 12 pm today. Police said they intensified security check different places of Nepalganj after the incident. But no arrest was made till this late afternoon.
