DAMAULI: A septuagenarian man has gone missing after he reportedly jumped into Kaligandaki River near the confluence of Kaligandaki and Trishuli at Devghat of Tanahun district on Tuesday. The man has been identified as Brihaspati Kandel (71), who hails from Biu-1 of Baglung district. Kandel had left his slippers and a photocopy of his citizenship on the river bank before he dived into the Kaligandaki River. The reason behind the apparent suicide was not known. Police said they are searching for the elderly man in the Narayani River downstream.
