Rainfall that started yesterday as a result of the westerly wind is expected to gradually decrease by tomorrow afternoon and the weather in Kathmandu is expected to be clear by then, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
The central parts of the country, including the Kathmadnu valley and the surrounding areas, received rainfall throughout the day today due to the westerly monsoon. Winds originating from the Arabian Sea brings in the westerly monsoon and its influence could be seen in the eastern parts of the country as well, the department stated. As per the meteorological data for the last 24 hours, Dang recorded the heaviest winter rainfall of 93.8 mm. Similarly, Jumla received 82.5 mm of rainfall, Nepalgunj 77.7 mm and Kathmandu recorded 12 mm rainfall, senior meteorologist Keshav Das Shrestha said.
