Befikre  Genre: Romantic Comedy Director: Aditya Chopra Cast: Vaani Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Julie Ordon Being screened at QFX Cinemas Kathmandu Movies with romantic love relationships aren’t new in Bollywood. Befikre, another romantic film, does not have a charming storyline. The plot is the repetition of a guy falling in love with a girl. Despite an abundance of French kissing scenes in the movie, it however doesn’t appeal to the audience. Dharam (Ranveer Singh) is a stand-up comedian and Shyra (Vaani Kapoor) is a tourist guide in Paris. They hook up after their first meeting. They then start living together. However, the relationship ends. Circumstances make them meet time and again and they try to remain friends. The love-hate relationship of couples is not new in movies. Befikre too is based on the same plot of a guy falling in love with a girl and then ending the relation, which going through complexities then after. The plot can be narrated in just a few lines and is predictable. The love-hate relationship of the couple is fun to watch but lengthy dancing steps weren’t necessary. The beautiful scenes of Paris captured by cinematographer Kaname Onoyama gives the audience the real feel of visiting Paris. A few scenes are quickly shot, they are a little blurred. Songs Nashe Si Chadh Gayi and Ude Dil Befirke make the audience groove and sing with them. Singh is good and he makes the audience laugh with his lustful acts. Kapoor is able to reflect her emotions through her eyes. The last scenes of the movie are too dramatic and not appealing. The movie is about the carefree life of a couple which however is quite unrealistic. Nothing much in the film to get attracted to despite the beautiful scenes of Paris.
