Two arrested with 3 kg hashish from TIA

KATHMANDU: Police said two persons were arrested in possession of a huge cache of hashish from the Tribhuvan International Airport of Kathmandu on Friday. They were arrested while trying to smuggle three kg and four gram hashish to Hong Kong via a Dragon Air flight. The suspects have been identified as 35-year-old Abirsher Paija Magar of Lekhphant-8 in Parbat district and 64-year-old Narman Gurung of Gaurigaun in Kaski district. Police said they recovered the drug hidden inside their luggage while checking their luggage before boarding the flight. Meanwhile, a youth was arrested in possession of 470 grams of raw materials used in producing hashish from Kalimati-based vegetable market in KMC-13 on Friday. Police identified the suspect as 27-year-old Sujan Tamang of Tistung-5 in Makawanpur district, currently residing in Gurjudhara of Chandragiri Municipality-8 on the western outskirts of Kathmandu Valley. Police seized seven kg and 730 gram raw materials used in producing hashish, Rs 5,000 in cash and a mobile set from his rented room.
