Pokhara, December 26 Kamal Bhandari, Samrakshyak Bhushan Bajracharya, Nabin Magar and Kumar Adhikari advanced to the men’s singles semi-finals of the tennis tournament under the seventh National Games in Pokhara. Nepal Police Club’s Bhandari defeated Sakshyam Karki of Tribhuvan Army Club 6-1, 6-1, while TAC’s Bajracharya beat Chandra Bahadur Thapa of Mid-western Region 6-1, 6-1. Likewise, Magar from Western Region outplayed Sriram Magar of Nepal APF Club 6-1, 6-2 and another Western player Adhikari NPC’s Avash Malla 6-3, 6-0 in the quarter-final matches. In women’s singles, NPC’s Mayanka Rana defeated Ani Mathema of APF 6-0, 6-3 to enter the semi-finals, while TAC’s Ira Rawat defeated Saloni Tamang of Eastern Region 6-1, 6-3. Also, Prerana Koirala of Eastern Region registered a hard-fought 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 victory over Ganga Sharma of Western, whereas Mahika Rana of NPC outplayed Bibhuti Karki of APF 6-1, 6-3 to make it to the last four. In the men’s doubles category, Kumar Adhikari/Anil Shahi of Western Region, Kamal Bhandari/Raju Shrestha of NPC, Sriram Magar/Santosh Khatri of APF, and Pradeep Shah/Himal Shah of Mid-western Region advanced to the semi-finals. Likewise, Rana siblings Mahika and Mayanka of NPC, Mathema sisters Ani and Cathey of APF, Bibhuti Karki/Bijisa Shrestha of APF, and Ira Rawat/Abhilasha Bista of TAC made it to the women’s doubles semi-finals.
