KATHMANDU: A person died and two others were critically injured after the scooter they were riding on met with an accident in Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City-14 of Rupandehi district on Wednesday night. The deceased has been identified as pillion rider Udesh Umar (18), and the injured as scooter rider Kanhaiya Lalu Umar (28) and another pillion rider Akalesh Kumar Kahar (24), all Indian nationals. The incident occurred when the scooter (Lu 19 Pa 1437) went out of control and met with the accident in Dhawa, Butwal,  at around 8:45 pm yesterday, said police. Udesh was rushed to Lumbini Zonal Hospital in Butwal, where he breathed his last. The critically injured are receiving treatment at the Universal College of Medical Sciences and Teaching Hospital in Bhairahawa, informed police.
