Workshop held

KATHMANDU: The two-day full project proposal writers’ interaction workshop organised by National Agricultural Research and Development Fund (NARDF) concluded here on Tuesday. The workshop was organised for the 80 coordinators of the Project Concept Note passed by the NARDF. During the workshop joint secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives Dr Krishna Bahadur Shrestha explained about the establishment of the NARDF. Shrestha, who is also former member secretary of the fund, talked about the background and history of the NARDF, its rationale, objectives, structure and responsibilities and the research and development themes as well. — HNS

Eye camp

BHAKTAPUR: A free eye-camp has been jointly organised by the Lions Club of Bhaktapur- Suryabinayak, Lions Club of Bhaktapur- Arniko, Khwop Women’s Group and Arniko Women’s Group. About 90 eye patients got their eyes tested on Tuesday and were given medicine free of charge at the two-day camp. Australian doctor Jason Both and Dr Deck Noth and Nepali eye specialist and other health workers conducted tests. Among the eye patients, six were found suffering from cataract. — RSS.
