Dhangadi, July 30 A Nepali team is all set to carry out a feasibility study of Taklakot road — connecting Province 7 with Tibet via the Bajhang-Khutiya-Dipayal-Chainpur road — in a week. The team comprises lawmakers, local tourism entrepreneurs, journalists, and engineers among others. “We are preparing to carry out a minute feasibility study of the trail within a week,” said Bajhang lawmaker Afilal Okheda. He argued that development of Province 7 was possible only through road connectivity with the northern and southern borders. “This is the shortest route that will connect Bajhang with Tibet,” he claimed. For the project, the government had already set up offices in Chainpur of Bajhang and BP Nagar of Doti when Ramesh Lekhak was the minister of Physical Planning and Construction. Minister for Physical Planning and Construction Bir Bahadur Balayar said the road that connects Dhangadi’s Khutiya-Dipayal-Chainpur-Taklakot was on his high priority list. “With the road access, there will be sharp rise in the number of Indian tourists visiting Manasarovar in Tibet while trade between India and Tibet can also developed with the opening of the northern border,” said Balayar.
