PHIDIM: Vehicular movement along the Mechi Highway has been disrupted following a landslide in Bharpa of Hilihang Rural Municipality-7 in Panchthar district since Friday morning. The rain-triggered landslide occurred at Guranse at 7:00 am today depositing the debris on the road along the Highway affecting more than 100 vehicles en route from Taplegunj and Panchthar to Ilam and Jhapa, and vice versa. The transportation in the areas of Taplegunj and Panchthar including Tharpu, Chyangthapu, Gopetaar has been hindered due to the mudslide. An excavator along with police and army personnel have been dispatched to clear the landslide debris, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Nakul Pokharel at District Police Office, Panchthar.
