2 bodies recovered from landslide debris in Panchthar

PHIDIM: Two more bodies have been recovered from landslide debris at Phalefung Rural Municipality-3 in Panchthar district on Sunday, police said. Nepal Police, Nepali Army along with locals fished out the bodies of Bishnu Bhakta Rai and his grandchild Priya Rai, who were buried in landslide on Friday. However, the body of Bishnu Bhakta Rai's daughter is yet to be recovered, according to police. Similarly, Maanraj Kerung who was swept away by Hewa rivulet is yet to be found. Meanwhile, the District Disaster Rescue Committee have decided to provide Rs 12,000 each to the families displaced by landslide in the district. More than 200 persons have been displaced by landslide in the area. Likewise, more than 49 persons have been killed and three dozens persons are reported missing in flood and landslide in terai and hilly region across the nation.
