Competition for development necessary: Minister Basnet

SINDHUPALCHOWK: Minister for Information and Communications Mohan Bahadur Basnet has pointed out the need for a competition among the leadership for development construction, now that the country has adopted a federal system. Inaugurating the Khakdal-Singase motor road here on Saturday, Minister Basnet said the leaders should compete for development while the people should become united. He also expressed the confidence that the employment in the villages with development construction works would support economic prosperity in the rural parts of the country. Also spokesperson of the Government of Nepal, Minister Basnet said only road network can open the door to further development, as well as sustainable and balanced development. “The support of local residents is essential to complete the road projects on time and with the required quality”, he said. The six kilometer road is being constructed at the cost of Rs 160 million and is expected to be completed in the next two years.
