Kathmandu, January 26 Nepal Police Club recorded double victory as Shivam New Diamond Academy extended their undefeated run to nine matches in the 13th Red Bull Dhorpatan UM Women’s Double League Volleyball Tournament here at the Dhorpatan Volleyball Training Centre courts today. Departmental side NPC thrashed Eastern Regional Volleyball Association 25-10, 25-12, 25-3 and returned to beat Three Star Academy 25-5, 25-7, 25-4. NPC accumulated 21 points and are at the third position in the table. Meanwhile, NDA came from a set down to defeat Tops HS School 3-1. Tops won the first set 25-20 but NDA came back strongly and took the second set 25-19 to level the scores. NDA then claimed the next two sets 25-18 and 25-9 respectively to maintain their winning streak. With nine wins in as many matches, NDA have accumulated 27 points to maintain their lead at the top of the standing. Nepal APF Club, who are also unbeaten in eight matches, saw off Eastern Regional Volleyball Association 25-7, 25-11, 25-11. The departmental side, who had finished runners-up in the previous edition of the tournament, are at the second position with 24 points. Similarly, Tribhuvan Army Club defeated Shree Gaun Sports Development Committee 25-12, 25-17, 25-23, while Meghauli Sports and Education Club beat Springdale English School 25-21, 25-19, 25-18. TAC are fourth in the standing with 18 points, while Tops are fifth with 15 points. Shree Gaun and Eastern have nine points each. A total 12 teams are competing in the tournament and top seven will make it to the second round.
