KATHMANDU: Incumbent Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun will be sworn-in for his second term of office today at 4:00 pm. President Bidya Devi Bhandari will administer oath of office to her deputy, Vice-President Pun, amid an official function at Sheetal Niwas. Sheetal Niwas officials are making necessary preparations for the ceremony, according to Prahlad Pudasaini, Joint Secretary at the Office of the President. Pun was re-elected unopposed for a second consecutive term since opposition Nepali Congress, or any other party, did not field any candidate to contend the election against Pun. In a similar instance, the left alliance had earlier pitched President Bidya Devi Bhandari as their candidate which had led to her victory and thus continuity into the second term of office. However, NC leader Kumari Laxmi Rai had contested the presidential election against Bhandari.
