KATHMANDU, April 13

Gold became dearer for Nepali consumers on Sunday, the last day of the Nepali year 2082, as the price jumped by Rs 1,000 per tola in the domestic market.

With this rise ahead of the New Year, the yellow metal reached a historic high of Rs 186,000 per tola, up from Rs 185,000 per tola on Friday, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association.

Gold prices have maintained strong upward momentum in recent days, setting new records in the domestic market.

Silver prices also followed the trend, gaining Rs 55 per tola today. It is now being traded at Rs 1,960 per tola, up from Rs 1,905 per tola on Friday.
