Dahal’s constituency gets Rs 2bn for roads

Chitwan, July 13 A budget of more than Rs two billion has been allocated for upgradation of roads in Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Co-chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s constituency in Chitwan. Laying the foundation stone of Ring Road at Bharatpur Metropolitan City-22 today, Dahal said no political agenda could dominate development issues. He also inaugurated three other roads at the function. The budget will be used for blacktopping 69-km road stretch. The Ministry of Urban Development had released the budget and selected contractors for several road projects. The road projects are supposed to be completed by mid-July 2020. Kanchha Ram Santoshi Danfe JV Bharatpur has been entrusted with constructing six roads at an estimated cost of Rs 778 million, while Raman Shivashakti JV Hetauda has been awarded contracts worth Rs 682 million for construction of seven roads. Meanwhile, Minister for Urban Development Mahammad Istiyak Rai, Secretary Dipendra Raj Sharma, lawmaker Uma Regmi, NCP (NCP) central member Ishwori Bhattarai, Bharatpur metropolis Mayor Renu Dahal, among others, stressed on development of the country.
