Four people, including the driver, died after a tractor carrying goods skidded off the road and fell down a steep slope near Budadanda in Palanta Rural Municipality-2, Kalikot, on Friday night.
The deceased have been identified as Chandra Prakash Rokaya (25), of Khatyad Rural Municipality-5, Mugu; Rabindra BK (21), and Sadu Budha (32), both of Palanta-4, Kalikot; and Amba Shahi, aged around 25–26, of Salkot in Palanta-5.
According to the District Police Office, Kalikot, the tractor-whose registration number has not been confirmed-was transporting food and other supplies from Thirpu in Palanta-9 to Chhal in Palanta-4 when the accident occurred.
All four victims reportedly died on the spot.
The tractor was found lodged on a narrow ledge below the road, while the bodies were recovered about 200 meters downhill.
A police team from the Thirpu Area Police Office reached the site soon after being alerted about the incident.
