Dhangadhi, April 7:

It was definitely not deputy mayor of Dhangadhi Jeet Ram Chaudhary’s day today. Chaudhary was holding office as usual when suddenly at around 11 am enraged activists of the seven parties burst in, smeared his face with soot and placed a garland of shoes around his neck.

Not satisfied with that, the rampaging activists tossed out the office furniture as well, said a security personnel, adding that although police were deployed to guard the office they could not prevent the youths from entering the office.

An agitator said, “Earlier, we looked for DDC president and vice-president but they were absent. So, we targeted the municipal office.” Police have arrested Lekh Raj Joshi of the NSU (Democratic) for smearing Chaudhary’s face. The NSU (Democratic) accused the police of beating Joshi up.
