HETAUDA: Two persons died and 22 others sustained injuries after a bus carrying wedding party overturned at Chainpur, in Makawanpurgadhi Rural Municipality-2 of Makawanpur district today. Police identified the deceased as Bikash Dhamala (21) of Kathmandu, and Nawaraj Pariyar (31) of Bhaktapur. According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Mukesh Kumar Singh, at the District Police office, Makawanpur, the bus (Ba 4 Kha 2217) heading towards Hetauda from Bhaktapur district overturned killing two passengers aboard and injuring 22 others. Two of injured who were in critical condition have been referred to Bharatpur-based College of Medical Sciences while others are receiving treatment at the Hetauda Hospital and Chure Hill Hospital. Preliminary investigation points to mechanical failure as the cause of the fatal incident. Meanwhile, investigation into the case is underway, police said.
