RPP's National Pride Rally concludes in Kathmandu

  KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party's Rastriya Swabhiman Yatra (National Pride Rally) concluded in Kathmandu after 15 days of East-West run, on Friday. There was a massive turnout with thousands of people in attendance at Bhrikutimandap in the conclusion ceremony of the rally that began on February 27 from Taplejung district in the east. A Kalash march was also organised on the occasion. Addressing the event, RPP chair Kamal Thapa reiterated his demand for the reinstatement of a Hindu kingdom. 'The country will face a Mahabharat like war should the government fail to address the party's demand,' Thapa said. 'There is no alternative to re-establishment of a Hindu state, failing which we will launch even severe movements.' Thapa further said that the federal structure should be corrected by keeping the federal and local levels intact while abolishing the provincial level. 'The institution of monarchy is a must for national integrity,' he added. Buddhiman Tamang, Deepak Bohara and Rajendra Lingden, the only representative of the party at the House of Representatives, had also addressed the event. Party chair Kamal Thapa thanked the cadres of the party, well-wishers, people while expressing gratitude to local and national media for their support. READ ALSO:
