CNI for democracy
KATHMANDU: Democracy is the only way for competing in the global market and fighting poverty, a press statement issued by the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) states. CNI, through the same release, adds that dialogue is the only way to solve the present political stalemate. Similarly, a separate press release of Nepal Freight Forwarders Association has also underlined the importance of dialogue for addressing the present agitation. — HNS
Ace Finance’s AGM
KATHMANDU: The 10th annual general meeting of Ace Finance was held on Thursday in Kathmandu. The company has registered a profit increment of 77 per cent, as compared to the previous fiscal year, states a press release. The company is providing loans to different entrepreneurs and businesses with interest rate ranging from 9.50 – 13.0 per cent.— HNS
Training on accounts
KATHMANDU: Account management training organised by Small Farmers Cooperative Ltd saw 19 participants opting for the training, out of which 18 were females, states a press release. Trainees were provided training on cooperatives’ account management, fixing interest rate and policies regarding investment and recovery of loans. — HNS
3G tenders at MTNL
NEW DELHI: Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL), which hopes to start its third generation (3G) services this fiscal, will open the first set of bids for equipment supply next month in India. Stating that all top companies dealing with cellular phone equipment are participating in the bids, MTNL executive director V K Arora said, “The entire tender process worth Rs 750 crore, is for two million GSM lines, of which 50 per cent would be 3G connections.” The remaining lines would serve to expand the existing 2G GSM set-up.— HNS
