Holi with jailbirds in Saptari

Rajbiraj, March 21 Festival of colours, Holi, was celebrated with a lot of gusto in Rajbiraj, Saptari, today. Crowds of youths sang Horiya songs and played Holi by throwing colour at each other. They danced to the tune of different songs and marked the festival. The CDO, security chiefs and people’s representatives visited Rajbiraj prison and celebrated Holi with inmates. CDO Surendra Poudel, SP Rajendra Bista, Armed Police Force SP Khemraj Thapa, DSP Bhabesh Rimal, Rajbiraj Mayor Shambhu Prasad Yadav, among others, had reached the jail to celebrate the festival with jailbirds. The inmates were happy when government office chiefs, peoples’ representatives and security chiefs played Holi with them. SP Rajendra Bista said they had played Holi with the inmates to change their mindset and thinking. “We played Holi with inmates with a view to helping them get involved in constructive work once they are out of jail,” Bista added. Dr Ranjit Jha, who reached the jail to celebrate Holi, had sung Horiya songs and danced to cheer the inmates.
