Jitpur-Simara Sub Metropolis extend financial support to windstorm-hit families

BARA: Jitpur-Simara Sub Metropolitan City on Tuesday decided to extend financial support for rehabilitation of windstorm-hit families in Bara and Parsa districts. According to Krishna Paudel, Mayor of Jitpur-Simara Sub Metropolis, the decision was taken to extend Rs 500,000 as relief fund to families displaced due to the natural disaster. 'People are going through a lot of pain and the majority of them are homeless in the areas,' Mayor Paudel shared. Shiva Raj Sedai, Chief Administrative Officer at the sub-metropolis, said, 'Staffers have decided to donate their one-day salary to people affected by the disaster in the districts.' The collected amount would be deposited at the District Disaster Relief Committee, Sedai added. Meanwhile, Deputy Mayor Saraswati Chaudhary said, local representatives are holding discussions on providing financial support to the victims.
