Bhojpur, June 16 A campaign has been launched to brighten houses after distributing solar panels to the locals of Aamchowk Rural Municipality, Bhojpur. Power supply has yet to reach the rural municipality. The rural municipality distributed solar panels to 68 poor families free of cost. The solar panels were distributed in coordination with Alternate Energy Promotion Centre. Germany and the rural municipality provided assistance for the same. The solar panels were distributed to villagers in 10 wards of the rural municipality. Chairman Ashok Rai of the rural municipality said as many 68 households, who could not afford to buy solar panel, had benefited. He said solar panels with capacity of 55 watts each were distributed to every household. Renewal Energy Programme, Bhojpur Chief Rajesh Bista, said the solar set was provided to  villagers targeting impoverished, single women and Dalits, among others. The daily life of people has become easier after distribution of the solar panel. The rural municipality said the programme had proved very effective. Janak Rai, a staffer at the rural municipality, said official works were operated via generator as there was no electricity service in the village.
