KATHMANDU: The national teams of archery and swimming on Tuesday left for Japan to prepare for the upcoming 13th South Asian Games. Archers Tilak Pun Magar, Roshan Nagarkoti, Gyanu Awale and Mitra Rai will undergo training, while Nepal Archery Association President Deepak Gurung accompanied the players to Japan. Likewise, swimmers Anubhav Subba, Dipander Awale, Upasti Maharjan and Anusiya Tandukar along with chief coach Shankar Karki are in the swimming team. The two teams will undergo training in Japan from August 1 to September 2. Meanwhile, the national kho-kho team will on Wednesday leave for Bardiya for the close-camp training at Bhurigaun covered hall. In the first phase, Nepal Kho Kho Association has picked up 35 players each in men’s and women’s sections. The players will be trained by four coaches before picking up the 15-member final squad for the 13th SA Games. Member Secretary of National Sports Council Ramesh Kumar Silwal bade farewell to the three teams on Tuesday.
