Distribution of textbooks starts
BANKE: With a view to removing the problem of scarcity of textbooks in mountainous districts of mid-west region, Janak Educational Materials Centre Limited has started the distribution of textbooks and other materials prior to the initiation of new educational session. The Nepalgunj regional office of the Limited has already started the distribution and delivery of textbooks of class 1-10 for the 15 districts of the region, according to office chief Krishna Prasad Pokharel. 'A total of 8,49,853 textbooks have been sent so far for Dang, Salyan, Rukum, Pyuthan and Rolpa districts of Rapti zone; Banke, Bardiya, Surkhet, Dailekh and Jajarkot of Bheri zone; and Jumla, Kalikot, Humla, Mugu and Dolpa of Karnali zone,' Pokharel said. — RSS
Special classes for differently abled
PARABAT: The District Education Office, Parbat, has started special classes at three places of the district for the benefit of the differently able children. The special classes are being conducted following the directives of the Department of Education to impart at least primary level education to all the differently abled children also. Special classes for the hearing-impaired children have been started at Garlengdham LS School at Hoshrangdi VDC, for mentally retarded at Suryodaya Primary School at Khurkot and for vision impaired through Braille script at Purneshwar HS School at Pipaltar.— RSS
