Stand united against violence: Minister Thapa

Kathmandu, November 9 Minister of Women, Children and Senior Citizens Tham Maya Thapa said there was no alternative to the supporters of non-violence coming together strongly to end all forms of violence in the society. Minister Thapa said this during a discussion with stakeholders in connection with celebrating the 16-day Campaign on Violence Against Women, organised at the ministry yesterday. Reminding that the government was working to run the campaign against gender-based violence in the current fiscal, she called on the citizens to become conscious against forms of violence and discrimination in society. On the occasion, discussions were held on forming the main programme committee to mark the 16-day campaign and preparations for the same and the theme for the campaign this year, among other topics. Representatives of various government and non-governmental organisations and ministry officials participated in the discussion.
