KATHMANDU: Nepal registered its inaugural win against the Maldives on Monday as Nepali bowler Anjali Chand snapped six wickets, including a hattrick, without conceding a single run in her 2.1 overs- thus setting a world record for best bowling figures in T20I. The Maldives posted a 17-run target which was effortlessly met by the home side within an over. Karuna Bhandari also grabbed two wickets before sending the Maldivian side packing in 10.1 overs. Anjali Chand beat the record previously held by Malaysian cricketer Mash Alisha. Opting to bat first on winning the toss, the Maldivian lineup, other than Hamana Niyaz and Afasha Abdulla, failed to produce a single run. Niyaz and Abdulla scored nine and four runs respectively. In return, Nepal met the target in an over with Kajal Shrestha's 13 runs (including three four's) and four extra runs. Nepal will play Bangladesh on December 4 next. Nepal, Maldives, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are the four countries competing in the South Asian Games 2019.
