Car-hit kills tiger along East-West Highway in Bara

BARA: A tiger died after a car hit the animal in Jitpur Simara Sub-metropolitan City-1 of Bara district today morning. The car (Ba 16 Cha 11) heading to Sarlahi district from Hetauda hit the tiger that was crossing the East-West Highway in Adhabhar forest area at around 7:20 am today, according to police. The adult female tiger died on the spot as the car hit her, police informed. Meanwhile, the car remains at the site while Parsa National Park has taken the driver into custody for further investigation into the incident. No human casualties have been reported in the incident, spokesperson at Bara District Police Office (DPO), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Gautam Mishra said and added that traffic has not been disrupted along the highway.
