Manager absconds with over Rs 2m

Nepalgunj, July 8:

Manager of a money transfer agency in Nepalgunj disappeared with over two million rupees on Thursday.

Lekh Bahadur KC, alias Hari, of Bageshwori-VDC-5 Makawanpur, now living in Nepalgunj, a branch manager of the Prabhu Money Transfer, absconded with the money, the office said.

KC fled away when Bindu Serchan, in charge of the office, had gone to Kathmandu to report that Rs 4 lakhs of the Rs 6 lakhs sent by the central office in Kathmandu had not been deposited in the branch’s bank account.

Addressing a press conference after his arrival to Nepalgunj on Thursday, Serchan said, “I reached Nepalgunj at 3:00 pm, but KC had fled away early in the morning.”

KC took away with him Rs 2,489,423 deposited with the company from June 27 to July 5, Sherchan said. The case has already been reported to the police, he added. SP at the district police office, Hem Bahadur Malla, said the investigation have been launched.
