SIRAHA, FEBRUARY 4

Movement in Siraha district has been affected with the enforcement of one-day nationwide general strike called by Dahal-Nepal faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party.

Vehicles other than those of security forces, ambulances and other essential services have not be allowed to operate.

Likewise, schools, factories, markets and banks remained shut owing to the strike.

Hundreds of vehicles ferrying people to the capital for Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's mass gathering scheduled for tomorrow have been stranded at the western border of Siraha, in Bandipur.

Many trucks and other goods-transporting vehicles too haven't been able to cross the district.

Meanwhile, the Lahan Police have detained two people for pelting stones at a truck that was passing by.
