Rautahat, March 23:

Terror and tension still grip the people of Gaur, which witnessed a massacre on Wednesday, and surrounding areas. Though curfew was relaxed yesterday, locals did not venture out of their homes. Over 300 locals have been displaced from Gaur, said journalist Shailendra Kumar Gupta, adding that they have crossed the border. A few rickshaws, motorcycles and cycles were seen plying.

Maoists’ former people’s government head at Rautahat Bindheshwor Yadav claimed that 50 party cadres are out of contact.

Looters group decamped with goods worth four lakh rupees from Bisharampur VDC yesterday, police said. A local was injured in retaliation with the gang.

Local administration issued an arrest warrant against district-based MJF leaders and cadres today.
