Declare Nepal a republic: Martyrs’ families

Nepalgunj, April 24:

The dreams of the martyrs will be fulfiled if Nepal is declared a democratic republic after holding CA polls as soon as possible, martyrs’ families said today.

Addressing a gathering organised to mark the first Loktantra Diwas at Setu BK Chowk in Nepalgunj, Anju, the wife of Hari Raj Adhikari, who was killed in Nepalgunj during the Jana Andolan-II, said: “To fulfil martyrs’ dreams heads of the eight parties should hold the CA polls and establish sustainable peace in the nation.” Urging political parties not to use civilians to only achieve their goals, she demanded the government to manage for the martyrs’ families.

Acting chief judge of the Nepalgunj Appellate Court, Bishnu Prasad Dhakal, felicitated the martyrs’ families.

The SOS Children’s Village announced to took responsibility for the care and education of Suman, the son of martyr Setu BK. Adhikari was killed on April 8, 2006 while BK was killed on April 18 during the movement. Earlier a rally was taken out from the gate of the DAO.
