The revised curriculum and textbooks of six subjects of grade One - Nepali, Mathematics, social science, health science, science and environment and creative art, will be introduced on a trial basis this academic year onwards. Piloting of programmes will be done from this academic year and will be used in the curriculum from the academic year 2006 after evaluating feedback next year. Bhaktapur, Rasuwa, Dhanusha, Taplejung, Baglung, Doti, Kailali, Jumla, Kapilvastu and Dhankuta are the districts where pilot programmes will be introduced. The new subjects will be taught in 50 schools from these districts. Jagannath Awa, director general at Curriculum Development Center said revised text books and curriculum would benefit students as the new texts are easy to understand.
