Pokhara, August 23:

Standing committee member of the CPN-UML Jhala Nath Khanal today said new Nepal would not be possible without ending feudalism.

Speaking at an interaction organised by the party’s Kaski chapter here, Khanal said: “Institutionalisation of a democratic republic will not be possible as long as feudal social structure remains in place.” He said the party has already started drafting its election manifesto.

“The CPN-UML will publicise its election manifesto after collecting views from the people nationwide,” Khanalsaid.

Rights activist Tek Nath Baral said the poll manifesto of the CPN-UML should match with the aspirations of the people.
