YCL to launch stir

KATHMANDU: The Young Communist League (YCL), the youth wing of the CPN-Maoist, is all set to launch a campaign from September 18 against what they call “corrupt people.” YCL’s valley in-charge Sagar said they have plans to take action against those they have identified as corrupt. “We currently do not want to say what the campaign will be like, but it definitely aims to unmask the corrupt people,” he said. According to Sagar, the YCL has already prepared a list of corrupt persons and the number adds up to 50. “They include industrialists, politicians and the common people, who have amassed millions of rupees through illegal means,” he added. — HNS

EU condemns blasts

KATHMANDU: The European Union Heads of Mission on Wednesday condemned Sunday’s bomb blasts in the capital and urged the government to give necessary political support to the police for maintaining rule of law. It also urged the government to bring all perpetrators of the blasts to face justice. — HNS

NMA calls off stir

KATHMANDU: Nepal Medical Association (NMA) on Wednesday called off its protest programme after an understanding between the Ministry of Health and Population and NMA. A three-member task force headed by expert of the Ministry, Dr Nirakarman Shrestha, has been formed to present a report with recommendations regarding initial appointment of doctors from ninth level. — RSS
